Ode to Trey

We Trey (and Erik!)fans on the ABC site were kickin’ around a few lyrics for our “Ode to Trey”. Sung LOOSELY to “I Walk the Line” by Johnny Cash! Hope ya like it! We love you!

I was born in a drawer, back when, sometime
I found a girl, thought for sure, she was sublime
But then my dad said go get her just for me
I lied to her on my false and bended knee

So I’ve mended fences with her dad
But a vain gal kicked me outta my pad
Then a preacher took me in and gave me work
Now I’m feelin’ much less like a jerk

Not your average Joe,
There was nowhere else to go
But I guess it must be fate
Got a mother like no other
Name’s Connie, maybe Kate
Can’t ask her shrink, ‘cause he’s dead
Now ain’t that just a kick in the head

Can’t tell how or when my story will end
No family to speak of, a man with barely a friend
I don’t go lookin’ for trouble, but it finds me anyway
Just a throw-away baby, those who know me call me Trey

And no matter where I go from this day forth
I’m stuck with so much for what it’s worth
I will go on and I will be just fine
Because of Dad
I walk the line
